Our Story

Tim, Stephanie, Griffin, and Amelia

Hi,

We’re the Hine family. Tim tends to the livestock and crops we raise while Stephanie manages the poultry and administrative tasks around the home and farm. Us along with our kids, Griffin and Amelia, live on Tim's 5th generation family farm in Waterloo, Indiana. Tim grew up helping his dad and grandpa raise commercial hogs and row crop the farm ground prior to him beginning to manage the farm in 2019.

We spent 5 years as a full-time RV family for my work as a travel physical therapist before settling onto the farm. While away from the farm Tim had dove into learning about regenerative agriculture and knew if we came back to the farm he would want to manage it with those principles in mind. He now works on the farm full-time.

Once we were settled, Tim began transitioning some of the crop land to permanent pastures and annual grazing mixes. We bought a herd of bred cows and heifers, a dozen pigs, and a small flock of laying hens and meat chickens. We also have two raw fed Labrador pups, a handful of the friendliest barn cats you'll ever meet, and one very spoiled indoor cat. We are rotationally grazing our beef herd, raising our pigs in the woods, have a mobile coop for our pastured laying hens, and pasture raise our meat chickens.

We currently sell our meat and eggs along with maple syrup, skincare products, and seasonal produce locally through the farmers market and now at our roadside farm store (located here).

Tim and I also spend time homeschooling our kids, running them to and from sporting and 4-H events, gardening, preserving food, and dreaming about future farm plans. It’s so nice to “meet” you!
